Meet the Presenter
Janine Shelby, Ph.D., RPT-S provides training, therapy, forensic assessment, and international disaster consultation to both survivors and those who work with survivors of trauma. Janine is a Licensed Psychologist and a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress with 15 years of specialization in posttraumatic therapy. She is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry and founded the Child Trauma Clinic at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She is the past-president of the California Association for Play Therapy.
Janine has worked with hundreds of survivors, including victims of sexual and physical abuse, political torture, war and natural disaster. Her clinical experiences provide the inspiration for her articles and book chapters on practical, effective, timelimited interventions with trauma survivors. Her presentations and writings focus on developmentally sound, research-based interventions for traumatized children and adolescents and their caregivers.
